                                                                                                    MOMENT OF SILENCE

My name is Reno Ministrelli, I attended my first protest on Tuesday, June 2nd 2020 in my town of Hermosa Beach, CA.  I was working from home and noticed an Instagram story that there was a protest at the Manhattan Beach Pier. I jumped on my bike and road down to support the peaceful protest, knowing our community would not live out the stigma of the violence we had been seeing on the news...  I was right and the protest was successful.

Since I missed the beginning of the protest in Manhattan Beach, I wanted to make sure I didn't miss the entire event as they moved south toward Hermosa Beach. I made my way south and set up where I thought they were going to stop.

The group  @MBPeaceProtest (organized  by Jemal Williams, Malachi McMahon, Dalia Feliciano, & Nia Marshall ) Jamel's passion and raw emotion was absolutely captivating.  As I sat there watching the crowd in my own way of participating in the protest, I was feeling the Anger, Frustration, Love, Hate, Unity and Fear building towards the cause.  To use the word "overwhelming" would be an understatement but it's the best I can do as I set up this page.

In this moment I happen to lift my head up and noticed what was happening in front of me and something inside pulled me to capture that moment, so I did.  After posting the image to Instagram to encourage others to participate and also celebrate another successful peaceful protest, a friend reached out.  Local photographer and one of the most talented I've seen, sent me a text saying "ICONIC".  Not realizing what I had done, or what I'm doing when it comes to photography, I sent him my raw images with the message "Learning from the best".  At that moment he returned to me the black  & white edit that has gone viral, locally, since.

I've been racking my brain, since the George Floyd murder on ways to help, little did I know my heart would lead me to this point which is why, through popular demand, we're offering anyone a copy of this photo....with a catch.

ALL PROFITS WILL BE DONATED TO THE BLACK LIVES MATTER FOUNDATION

I've never done this before, but as local Entrepreneurs' we're figuring it out together in an effort to support, help, spread awareness and give you a piece of what I'm being told is "a piece of Hermosa Beach History".  June 4th, 2020 this photo was featured in our local paper, the Easy Reader and was just informed it will soon be in the Hermosa Beach Museum, by request and in remembrance.
